After 16 years, Norbury Park delighted to lift the trophy again…
Norbury Park were delighted to lift the Millennium Cup trophy, having last won it in 2002 and 2003.
With the 2018 Millennium Cup league stage of the competition complete, Norbury Park and Telford Park, the joint leaders in the points table. with 24 points apiece, squared off for the Final.
Holders Grafton’s late run attempt to reach the final had been stopped in its tracks when hosts Norbury Park defeated them 7-2 in the last of the league ties to be played this year.
Since Telford hosted their league tie, Norbury hosted the final on Sunday 1 July in their third consecutive appearance in the trophy match.
It was to prove third time lucky for them as they defeated Telford 6-3 to lift the trophy after a gap of 16 years, much to their obvious delight.

The Final
In an innovation for the competition, the Final was scheduled over the weekend of 30 June and 1 July instead of the traditional dated in September.
Reserve dates for league ties postponed due to inclement weather or scheduling difficulties were 12-13 May, 16-17 June and 23-24 June.
