Grafton sees off holders Norbury Park…
The 19th edition of the Millennium Cup got under way in Streatham over the first weekend of April when Grafton Tennis & Squash Club, finalists last year, took revenge over 2018 Champions, Norbury Park Lawn Tennis Club.
Playing at home, Grafton posted a convincing 7-2 win over their guests.
“It was an excellent start to the 2019 competition,” said Murray Sutton, Grafton’s Captain and Chair of the Organising Committee.
A full report will follow and here, in the meantime, are the individual match scores:

Wigmore snatch the win over Woodfield Grove
Hosts Woodfield Grove Tennis Club lost out on four match tiebreaks in their first outing of the year against Wigmore, narrowly losing their opening tie 3-6.
“We had a hard fought battle against Wigmore today, which we ultimately lost 6-3, including a number of championship tiebreaks,” lamented Jon Elwes, Woodfield Grove’s Captain.
“It could so easily have gone the other way, and it really was a sterling effort by everybody on the team!”
Wigmore trail Grafton by just one point in the opening Points Standings, with Woodfield Grove third and Norbury Park, fourth.
A full match report will follow shortly, but match scores follow:
