Wigmore postpone tie against Telford Park –
Wigmore LTC forced to postpone April tie.
Due to unforeseen circumstances, Wigmore were unable to host the tie against Telford Park on Sunday 24 April and postponed this to a later date.
As Telford could not provide courts at such short notice, the captains agreed to the postponement.
“The Millennium Cup is about playing tennis,” said Barbara Wancke, the Millennium Cup Administrator.
“It was disappointing for the Telford Team, who were all set to play, but they generously agreed to the request despite the very short notice.
“It is one of the reasons we have reserve dates in the schedule so hopefully Wigmore will be able to play host on one of these or find some other mutually convenient date for the two clubs to play their tie.
“We will keep everyone posted on this.”
Wigmore were very apologetic over the inconvenience, explaining that Aegon National League matches had taken priority over the Millennium Cup bookings and there was nothing they could do about it.
